7 World Central Kitchen aid workers bombed in Gaza

The World Central Kitchen (WCK) reports that 7 of their members lost their lives in the Gaza Strip while aiding the people of Palestine. The victims were WCK Relief Leader- 43 year-old Lalzawmi (Zomi) Frankcom from Australia- and her team consisting of: 35 year-old Damian Sobol; 33 year-old Jacob Flickinger from USA & Canada; 57 year-old John Chapman from the UK; 33 year-old James (Jim) Henderson from the UK; and 47 year-old James Kirby from the UK.

The workers had informed the Israeli army of their plans beforehand and were in the middle of unloading 100 tons of humanitarian supplies when multiple Israeli airstrikes landed in their convoy.

Ramesh Rajasingham, Director of the Coordination Division of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs emphasizes to the security council, “It is clear there is no protection of civilians in Gaza.”

Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu says in a video message, “It happens in war, we check it to the end, we are in contact with the governments, and we will do everything so that this thing does not happen again.”

With the war now taking the lives of innocent aid workers, it is now a question of when will the government powers from which these people come from stand up for its people and demand for a ceasefire. Since October, more than 32,000 people have been killed and over 75,000 injured, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
