IMF Economist: Risk of Global Recession Minimal Despite Challenges

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Chief Economist Gita Gopinath expressed that there is minimal risk for any global recession to occur even in the midst of challenges.

She stated that the global growth projections stay positive with the IMF forecasting growth of 4.4% for 2024.

Despite inflation and geopolitical tensions, Gopinath said that these events would unlikely cause a global recession. She also emphasized the major role of policymakers adopting certain measures to ensure the growth of the economy.

While of course some persists, Gopinath’s  assessment gives reassurance to investors and businesses around the world that the economical environment is stable and growing in the coming months.
